Kathmandu arrival

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel, and settle in after your journey. In the evening, meet the team for a short orientation and review of the coming days.

Pashupatinath temple visit

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing & Briefing

Visit Pashupatinath Temple for puja, then Gujeswori, Boudhanath, and Budhanilakantha. Return for a detailed yatra briefing and gear check (down jacket, duffel bag, essentials).

Drive to Timure

Day 3: Kathmandu to Timure (Kerung Border)

Drive through Nepal’s scenic hills to Timure near the Kerung border. Rest and prepare documents for border formalities the next day.

Rasuwagadhi border crossing

Day 4: Cross into Tibet, Drive to Kerung

Complete immigration at Rasuwagadhi, enter Tibet, and drive to Kerung. The altitude increases, so move slowly and hydrate well.

Kerung acclimatization day

Day 5: Acclimatization at Kerung

Acclimatization day with light walks, monastery visit, and local market. This helps prepare your body for higher passes ahead.

Drive to Saga with lake views

Day 6: Kerung to Saga

Drive across the Tibetan plateau, passing high passes and Peiku Tso before crossing the Brahmaputra. Arrive in Saga for overnight rest.

Approach to Mansarovar

Day 7: Saga to Mansarovar

Cross Mayumla Pass and reach the sacred Mansarovar Lake. First darshan of Mount Kailash is often visible on this day.

Mansarovar lake rituals

Day 8: Mansarovar Pooja & Drive to Darchen

Perform pooja and parikrama at Mansarovar. Optional visit to Chiu Gompa. Later drive to Darchen, the base for Kailash Kora, and attend briefing.

Kora trek day one

Day 9: Trek to Dirapuk

Begin the Kora. Trek from Darchen via Tarboche and Yamadwar to Dirapuk monastery with stunning north-face views.

Dolma La Pass crossing

Day 10: Dirapuk to Zutulpuk via Dolma La

Early start for the strenuous crossing of Dolma La Pass (5,630 m). Visit Gauri Kunda and descend to Zutulpuk monastery.

Kora completion day

Day 11: Complete Kora, Drive to Saga

Complete the final stretch of Kora to Chasang, drive back to Darchen, and continue to Saga for rest and recovery.

Drive to Kerung

Day 12: Saga to Kerung

Drive back towards the Nepal border with views of Shishapangma and Lake Paiku Tso. Cultural farewell with the local Tibetan crew.

Day 13: Kerung to Kathmandu

Complete border formalities and return to Kathmandu. Evening free for shopping at Thamel.

After breakfast, transfer to Kathmandu International Airport for your onward journey.

Visa Processing Requirements

  • Clear, color-scanned passport copy (valid 6+ months).
  • 25% advance payment for Tibet Group Visa processing.

  • Prepare fitness: yoga/aerobics/light exercise.
  • Carry warm clothing and thermals.
  • Use sunglasses and sunscreen.
  • Walk steadily during Kora; do not rush.
  • Pack light and carry essentials only.
  • Keep ID documents safely accessible.
  • Maintain team spirit and support others.

  • Avoid travel with serious conditions (asthma/BP/breathing issues).
  • Do not sleep with shoes/boots on.
  • Do not carry excessive luggage.
