Visit Pashupatinath Temple for puja, then Gujeswori, Boudhanath, and Budhanilakantha. Return for a detailed yatra briefing and gear check (down jacket, duffel bag, essentials).
Drive through Nepal’s scenic hills to Timure near the Kerung border. Rest and prepare documents for border formalities the next day.
Complete immigration at Rasuwagadhi, enter Tibet, and drive to Kerung. The altitude increases, so move slowly and hydrate well.
Acclimatization day with light walks, monastery visit, and local market. This helps prepare your body for higher passes ahead.
Drive across the Tibetan plateau, passing high passes and Peiku Tso before crossing the Brahmaputra. Arrive in Saga for overnight rest.
Cross Mayumla Pass and reach the sacred Mansarovar Lake. First darshan of Mount Kailash is often visible on this day.
Perform pooja and parikrama at Mansarovar. Optional visit to Chiu Gompa. Later drive to Darchen, the base for Kailash Kora, and attend briefing.
Begin the Kora. Trek from Darchen via Tarboche and Yamadwar to Dirapuk monastery with stunning north-face views.
Early start for the strenuous crossing of Dolma La Pass (5,630 m). Visit Gauri Kunda and descend to Zutulpuk monastery.
Complete the final stretch of Kora to Chasang, drive back to Darchen, and continue to Saga for rest and recovery.
Drive back towards the Nepal border with views of Shishapangma and Lake Paiku Tso. Cultural farewell with the local Tibetan crew.
Complete border formalities and return to Kathmandu. Evening free for shopping at Thamel.
After breakfast, transfer to Kathmandu International Airport for your onward journey.
