Detailed Itinerary
Day-by-day plan for the 12-day helicopter yatra.
Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 Meters)
You will arrive in Kathmandu and you will be escorted to your hotel by our official representative. Rest of the day is for leisure.
Kathmandu Sightseeing and Visa Processing
Our official representative will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning for Kathmandu sightseeing and Pashupatinath temple. In the afternoon, Tibet VISA processing.
Drive to Nepalgunj (7 Hrs)
After breakfast, drive towards Nepalgunj. It is a 7 hours drive from Kathmandu. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel.
Nepalgunj to Simikot (6-7 Hrs)
After early breakfast, we will drive to Simikot for 6 to 7 hours. Today we will complete the journey for 9 to 10 hours by road. Overnight stay at guesthouse.
Simikot - Hilsa (30 mins) - Taklakot (2.5 Hrs) by Helicopter
Today, you will travel to Hilsa by helicopter after breakfast. Spend a short time in Hilsa after arriving. A 2.5 hour vehicle trip will be made to your Taklakot (Purang) hotel. Today, we will do the medical checkup and permit for the yatra by Chinese government.
Drive to Mansarovar (150 Km)
In the morning after breakfast, you will start your journey to Lake Mansarovar. It is around 150 km from Taklakot. You will complete your holy Mansarovar Parikrama and will reach Darchen for overnight stay. Lake Mansarovar Parikrama is 70-90 km, and will take 3-4 hours.
Kailash Parikrama First Day: Darchen to Dirapuk (13 Km Trek)
Start your parikrama by trekking 13 km. Yak and porter available on extra cost. Overnight stay at guest house.
Kailash Parikrama Second Day: Dolma La Pass and Zutulpuk (22 Km Trek)
This day is the most difficult. We have to trek 22 km and an altitude of 5630 m. We will pass Shiva Tsal and Gauri Kund. Overnight stay at guest house.
Kailash Parikrama Third Day: Darchen (8 Km Trek)
Today is the last day, we will trek 8 km. You will meet the vehicle to drive to Darchen and drive to Hilsa. Overnight stay at guest house.
Hilsa - Simikot - Nepalgunj by Helicopter
Early morning drive from Hilsa to Simikot and fly to Nepalgunj by helicopter. On arrival, check in hotel and rest.
Drive back to Kathmandu (7 Hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Kathmandu (7 hours). Check in to hotel. Rest of the day leisure.
